How is EMP different from my regular doctor?

There are several important differences. Optimizing the body's biosystem is in many ways similar to correcting imbalances in the earth's ecosystem: both are extremely complex, and a change in one system can cause unexpected changes in many other systems. Therefore, it is imperative that the physician understand this and use a gentle and experienced touch to guide the body's systems back to optimal levels while minimizing potential unwanted effects.

Second, medicine today is concerned with seeing as many patients as possible. This is unfortunate, and is partly due to the insurance industry. This approach forces practitioners to focus on symptoms rather than on causes, and hardly does justice to the complexity of the human mind and body. In contrast, we take the time to identify and treat the deeper underlying causes utilizing the latest holistic and anti-aging principles.

Philosophically, we see clients as partners rather than "patients." This means we work together to achieve health goals. Let's face it, staying healthy and beautiful takes some work. With EMP as your health partner, the path to peak health is both enjoyable and rewarding.

                     in an eclectic approach to health.

Do you perform aesthetic procedures like botox or laser?

Not at this time. We focus on the internal aesthetics of the body: health from the inside out. A beautiful chassis won't make it far if the engine is worn out. However, many clients experience more youthful skin, firmer bodies and fat loss as a benefit of our programs. That being said, we do support aesthetic medicine. We can refer you to some exceptional specialists in this field if desired.

Do you see athletes?

Yes. We work with every level of athlete to help them reach their personal and professional performance goals through supplementation and osteopathic sports medicine. Clients include ATP/WTA professionals, martial artists, golfers, natural body builders and dancers.

Do you see children?

Yes. Although most clients are adults, we treasure the vitality of children. Beginning children on a life-long holistic health program is a great gift. Children started on such a program now have the potential to live over 150 years in good health. We accept children from about six years and up.

Do you accept "health insurance"?

No. There are two good reasons for this. First, "health insurance" is really disease insurance that will not usually pay for holistic or anti-aging medicine.

Insurance companies are in the business of maximizing corporate profits and limiting costs, not optimizing health. This is actually a blessing for EMP and its clients. With no meddling insurance companies controlling how we practice medicine, we can provide the high level of care clients deserve. We work for our clients, not for the insurance industry.

Second, we can maintain a level of confidentiality not possible with third parties involved. All client records are zealously protected. Virtually all of our clients prefer this enhanced level of privacy about their personal health issues.

Are bioidentical hormones FDA approved?

Some standard dosages of bioidentical hormones are FDA approved and we use these standard doses whenever possible. However, when a dosage or strength that the patient requires is not commercially available, we use a compounding pharmacy to prepare an individualized prescription. Compounding pharmacists must comply with both state and federal regulations, and they have access to the highest grade bulk ingredients as well as state-of-the art equipment used to accurately prepare hormone preparations.  Often a compounding pharmacy will formulate a superior medication at a lower price than a conventional pharmaceutical company.

Are there any side effects from hormone treatments?

Side effects from our therapies are rare and do not compare with the serious side effects from synthetic drugs. When they do occur, they can easily be alleviated by adjusting or stopping the hormone, resuming it at a lower dose, and then gradually increasing to optimal levels.

Can your clinic help me with therapy that doesn't use HGH or bio-identical hormone treatments?

Yes, we can. We help many clients improve their health through advice on proper diet, lifestyle, supplementation, and exercise. We prescribe anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, ayurvedic and other integrative treatments as indicated. We strive for a truly integrative, holistic approach to health.
